Chartered in 1985, the Swan City Club is the second longest-running Rotary Club in Grande Prairie. With 120 members, the club is incredibly active within the community. Swan City is involved in the highest number of projects of all the clubs in the region, whether they manage the projects themselves or partner with one or more of the other Rotary clubs.
The Swan City Club meets every Wednesday at the Holiday Inn. Meetings are hybrid, allowing easier access for current and prospective members, using Zoom. The room opens at 12 p.m. for in-person and online attendees, with the meeting starting at 12:15 p.m.
Swan City continues to focus on building our foundation as a club — to increase our contributions to projects that make a difference, locally and internationally. As Grande Prairie continues to grow, we must build awareness of what Rotary is so that our members and initiatives can also grow. We owe the work we have accomplished to our members and thank everyone for their commitment! Our promise to new and continuing members is to continue with our current and new projects that have meaningful impact locally and around the world. We will continue to serve as Rotarians with the mission of service about self.

What’s the perfect way to break up your week? The Swan City Rotary meetings! A Wednesday noon meeting is the best mid-week check-in to keep you focused on community-oriented projects.
With a high membership count, Swan City works to ensure all members feel engaged with the club and are building on interests near and dear to their hearts. Members are surveyed annually as a way to check in, welcoming new and current members to another year and allowing them to choose amongst Swan City’s many initiatives they most want to be a part of.
What projects are you most passionate about? Let us know at our next meeting! Email admin@scrcgp.com to arrange admission and see what we offer our members.
The Rotary Clubs of Grande Prairie are proud to support the Rotary Youth Exchange Program, offering students the unique opportunity to experience new cultures, broaden their horizons, and build lifelong global connections.
Through this program, local students can study abroad, while students from other countries immerse themselves in our community. By fostering cultural understanding and personal growth, the Rotary Youth Exchange helps shape tomorrow’s leaders, promoting peace and goodwill across borders. Join us in creating a more connected and compassionate world through the power of international exchange.
Donate, request funding, attend a meeting — however, you want to work together, give us a call and let’s see what we can do!
The Swan City Club is as business-oriented as it is community. The Club sponsors and co-hosts the Small Business Week Luncheon with the Chamber of Commerce, engaging local businesses to get further involved in the Grande Prairie region.
A lot of focus is also given to future Rotarians, with several youth-based initiatives. The Swan City Club is a big supporter of the Army Cadets and Interact Clubs throughout the city. The club also provides education and youth awards, including:
Swan City has set an objective to develop relationships with the local Indigenous communities, both with the Rotary’s District Indigenous Committee and on its own. In working with the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre since 2015, Swan City has sponsored 21,000 of the Centre’s suppers at the Community Kitchen. Since the beginning of this partnership, our mandate has broadened to raise awareness and promote local Indigenous cultural events and social initiatives — some of which Swan City has been able to sponsor, attend, and volunteer at, including:
As our relationships and awareness grow, Swan City’s goal is to expose the youth in Rotary programs and Interact Clubs to local Indigenous community events. Members, current and aspiring, are also encouraged to attend our upcoming presentations by Indigenous speakers.
